Another in the ghost/human romance genre, this modern take on A Chinese Ghost Story finds lowlife Tony Leung Ka-Fai being pursued by ghost Chingmy Yau. It turns out they were lovers in a previous life, but her soul is tormented. She died horribly and her skin was used to make a lantern. While that disgusting image settles in, here's the rest of the plot: Leung finds it his job to get the lantern back and reunite it with her bones - thus freeing her for reincarnation. Unfortunately, it’s under the watchful eye of the man-who-plays-triads, Roy Cheung. To help, Leung enlists cop Tommy Wong, in one of his larger roles to date.
